Friday:

Opening Ceremonies

Join us as we officially launch the 2011 Conference on Canadian Content in Speculative Arts and Literature!

Heather Dale Concert

Heather Dale is a Canadian Celtic recording artist and touring musician. She records and performs primarily her own original songs, which draw their inspiration from the mythology, folklore and history of various Celtic and non-Celtic cultures. Her musical style is a mix of traditional and modern, with elements from Celtic, folk, jazz, blues, folk-rock and world music influences.

Filk Singing

Bring your favourite Filk song... or a bunch of them!

Saturday:

Ed and Red's Podcast Recording

See Ed the Sock and Liana K record an episode of Ed and Red's Podcast

Masquerade

The CAN-CON Masquerade is an amateur costume and sketch competition for costumes of any origin including but not limited to: Media Recreation (example Star Wars, Star Trek, Comic Books, Anime, Buffy), Historical, Literary inspired and Original Designs. The contest spans all levels of craftmanship and experience, from first-time participants to seasoned professionals.

The CAN-CON Masquerade follows the Divisional System Guidelines set out by the International Costumers Guild.

Dance

After the masquerade stick around for some groovy tunes, electrifying songs and mischievous airs as DJ Johnny Zed whips them out of his massively eclectic collection. He's been a DJ in the con scene for over 20 years now and knows how to party fandom-style!

While the titles in his collection speculatively number in the 1000s he will make a valiant attempt to fulfill all requests. Failing that, he will play a reasonable facsimile, that is in some way related, directly or indirectly, to the original song of choice.

This dance event will have no specific theme but we promise a dance floor in a fantastic room with dimmed lighting for all your dancing needs.

Sunday:

Pool Party

Start the final day of this year's con with a Pool Party!!
Bring your swimsuit or water-proof costume.
As far as we know, we are the only local convention with a wave-pool - come and enjoy!

Closing Ceremonies

Join the Con Chairs and the rest of the Organizing Committee as we mark the end of the event for another year.
