The Self Pub Soirée
Friday, October 16 at 8pm in Celtic, join us for the Self Pub Soirée, where we’ll be celebrating Can*Con’s brilliant and hardworking self-published authors. There will be a raffle and bar, plus a photo wall and networking opportunities. All are welcome to attend!
The All-Night Write-In
Do you never want the con fun to end? Join the Capital Region Writers on Friday October 16 any time after 8pm for our All-Night Write-In. The Capital Region Writers (CRW) are a local group who come together as a community to support their fellow writers whether veteran, aspiring, amateur, or just-for-fun-havers. This year, they’ll be taking over the consuite to host a wild night of snacks, words, and new friendships. Come sit down with them and fill pages with words, some of which might even make sense! Things will wrap up at 8am on Saturday morning, just in time to dive into another day of con craziness. As a warning, you are not required to write all night long, but you are required to help with the annual blanket fort.
You must register in advance to participate in this write-in, with an additional cost to cover the room being used for this event. Spots are limited!
Spooky Social
Are you a horror author looking to meet other like-minded ghouls? Are you a non-horror author curious about what makes terrifying brains tick? Then come hang out at the Spooky Social. Black cat got your tongue? Don’t worry! There will be chilling ice breakers, chaotic conversation topics, and ghastly games provided … If you’re brave enough to try them. And yes, there will be spirits.
Out Of This World Dance Party
It’s Saturday night at Can*Con, and it’s time to dance! Come down to Celtic at 9pm on the 17th, grab a drink from the bar, and hit the dance floor. This year we’re featuring the SFF-themed set list of DJ David Demchuk. And don’t worry, there’s plenty of quieter space outside Celtic for when you’re all danced out or just taking a break.
