Volunteer Duties
Registration Desk
Help people register for the con and sign in (pre-registration, registration at the door). Answer questions about membership fees, direct attendees to panel rooms, general questions about the convention.
Panel Host
Moves between the panel rooms, making sure everything is prepared for the next panel and that individuals with accessibility devices or needs can easily get to the front of the room.
You’ll be able to watch most of the panel, until it is time to give the Five Minutes of Doom signal to each panel.
Herder/Runner
Help with directing participants as they arrive for pitch sessions, Kaffeeklatsches, and office hours. Keep the flow of participants moving, herd participants into/out of room and make sure sessions aren’t interrupted.
As well, run small errands, relay messages, guide attendees, etc, as needed. May be asked to provide assistance at registration.
Con Suite
Hang out in the con suite and keep things tidy, snacks filed, coffee flowing, etc, while assisting the Con Suite manager.
Pre-Con setup
Around Friday morning? Join the pre-Con party – stuffing swag bags, helping vendors find their way to the Dealer Room, and putting up posters throughout the con.
Post-Con tear down
Stick around at the end of the convention and help clean and pack up registration, exhibitors’ room, con suite, panel rooms, etc.
